Platform Update – April & May 2025 Edition
Spring has brought a wave of powerful new features to CheckView! From smarter iframe handling and Stripe test mode enhancements to new white-label options and precise click control, we’ve focused these past two months on giving you deeper testing flexibility and better client-facing presentation.
Here’s what’s new across the platform:
✅ Stripe Test Mode Support for “Payment Plugins for Stripe WooCommerce”
CheckView now supports Stripe Test Mode for the popular third-party plugin, Payment Plugins for Stripe WooCommerce, joining our support for the official WooCommerce Stripe plugin.
To use it:
- Select the Payment Plugins for Stripe WooCommerce method during test setup.
- Enter your Stripe test keys under WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Stripe.
- Make sure test mode is not activated—this allows CheckView to simulate real checkout flows using Stripe test cards (like 4242 4242 4242 4242).
This gives you robust testing support across both major Stripe integrations.
🎯 Click Positioning Locator Option
Need to click on a specific spot within an element? You can now add pixel-precise control using the new Position X and Position Y fields in the Click step.
- Position X (px): Horizontal offset from top-left
- Position Y (px): Vertical offset from top-left
If left blank, CheckView will default to the element’s center. This update is ideal for:
- Interactive charts or maps
- Image-based actions
- UI areas where position affects behavior
🔒 CleanTalk Firewall Whitelisting
Sites using CleanTalk’s firewall no longer need to worry about test interference.
With version 2.0.13 of our WordPress plugin, CheckView will automatically:
- Detect CleanTalk firewall activation
- Whitelist CheckView test IPs and identifiers to prevent test actions from being blocked
This ensures consistent testing without requiring manual adjustments for each site using CleanTalk.
📸 iFrame Step Action
iFrames can often break tests when content is embedded from third parties or isolated subcomponents. We’ve fixed that.
CheckView now supports iFrames across several click-based action types. Here’s how it works:
- Select Advanced Methods → iFrame within the step settings.
- Provide the iFrame’s CSS or XPath selector.
- Repeat this for each step that occurs within an iFrame context.
This allows CheckView to successfully interact with embedded forms, checkout fields, or other components that would otherwise go untested due to iframe isolation.
🆕 New Scroll Step: “Scroll Around Page”
Many forms and components only appear after scrolling, often due to JavaScript or CSS triggers.
We’ve introduced a new step type, Scroll Around Page, that instructs the bot to scroll up and down the page when a target form isn’t initially visible. It helps:
- Uncover hidden or delayed content
- Trigger scroll-based animations
- Load dynamic form elements
You can also manually add this step to any test flow to simulate scrolling behavior in custom test logic.
🎥 Scroll to Full Page View in Test Recordings
We’ve enhanced video test recordings to scroll the entire page, even when no error is detected.
This means that every test video now includes full top-to-bottom page visibility, so you can catch confirmation messages, banners, or dynamic content without needing a failure to trigger a scroll.
🎨 White Label Mode for the WordPress Plugin
Agency and freelancer clients can now take full advantage of CheckView’s White Label Mode, included in plugin v2.0.13.
From the CheckView platform under Organization Settings → Platform Configuration → Plugin Visibility, you can now:
- Hide the CheckView plugin from the WordPress Plugins screen
- Rename the plugin settings page to “Automated Testing” in the admin menu
This offers a cleaner, agency-branded presentation or a stealth install if you want to keep the tooling behind the scenes.
🔍 Note: Plugin folder names, internal API paths, and URLs will still reference “CheckView” for compatibility and consistency, but the WordPress dashboard experience is now fully customizable.
That wraps up the April & May 2025 updates! We hope these enhancements make your testing workflows more flexible, efficient, and client-friendly.
As always, we love hearing your ideas, reach out anytime, and we’ll see you soon with even more updates.
