Platform Update – Summer 2025
This summer’s CheckView update delivers one of two major behind-the-scenes upgrades we have in progress. While much of this work happens under the hood, the changes you’ll see will make your testing more reliable, more flexible, and more reflective of real-world user behavior.
🕵️♂️ Next-Generation Browser Bot for Improved Stealth and Compatibility
We’ve rebuilt the CheckView browser bot to make it even more compatible with modern websites and harder for server-side security to detect.
Key improvements include:
- More realistic, dynamic browser headers to better mimic real users.
- Enhanced request patterns that reduce the likelihood of being blocked by WAFs, server security modules, and bot-detection tools.
- Support for expanded browser and device types, so you can test against modern desktop and mobile environments with more authenticity.
Result: Fewer 403 errors, fewer access denials, and a testing experience that’s much closer to how real customers interact with your site.
📱 Smarter Mobile Testing with Device Type Options and Dynamic Resolutions
With the browser bot rebuild, we’ve also introduced enhanced mobile testing capabilities:
- Simulated Android and iOS (Safari) environments using realistic mobile user agents.
- A weighted randomization system that automatically rotates tests through the most common device types and screen resolutions.
- Continued use of the Chromium engine for consistency, with behavior fine-tuned for mobile-specific rendering.
Why this matters: Your checkout and site flows will now be tested against a broader and more realistic range of mobile experiences, catching issues before they affect real customers.
⚡ Upgraded Step Generator with CSS Selectors for Speed and Stability
We’ve replaced our step generation engine’s reliance on XPath with a CSS-selector-first approach.
Benefits include:
- Faster test generation and execution times.
- Fewer flaky tests, thanks to cleaner and more consistent selectors that are less affected by minor frontend changes.
This means you’ll spend less time troubleshooting tests and more time getting accurate results.
🖥️ More Context in Test Results: Environment & Duration Display
To help you troubleshoot more effectively, your test results page will now show:
- Browser type
- Operating system
- Screen resolution
- Total test duration
These additional details give you clearer context for every test run and make it easier to pinpoint environment-specific issues.
🤖 Better Gemini AI Support for Auto-Filled Test Data
We’ve enhanced our integration with Google’s Gemini AI models so that CheckView can now:
- Accurately auto-fill test values based on form field type and label context.
- Improve consistency of test runs involving complex or conditional forms.
This upgrade makes form-related tests more realistic and reduces the manual work needed to maintain them.
🔧 General Performance Optimizations and Stability Improvements
Alongside these major upgrades, we’ve implemented numerous optimizations and bug fixes to make CheckView faster and more stable, including:
- Reduced resource usage for long-running tests.
- Enhanced resilience when network conditions are less than ideal.
- Various edge case fixes with specific form types and fields.
What’s Next
This release is the first of two major under-the-hood upgrades planned for the remainder of 2025. We’ll share details on the second later this year, but for now, expect a faster, smarter, and more adaptable CheckView experience in your day-to-day testing.
