Platform Updates: Black Friday Edition
The past few weeks have been a dynamic and productive period at CheckView! Despite the bustling demands of Black Friday, we’ve continued to deliver significant updates to make automated WordPress testing easier and robust for our users. Now that the Black Friday rush is behind us, our team is diving back in with renewed focus, and several exciting updates are already in progress.
Before we get to what’s coming next, let’s take a moment to highlight the latest updates and give you a preview of the enhancements on the horizon.
Recent Platform Enhancements
- WS Form Official Support. We’re thrilled to announce official support for WS Form! A big thanks to Mark and the team at WS Form for helping us make this integration effortless. WS Form users can now enjoy smooth, comprehensive test automation within CheckView.
- Updated Email Subject Formatting: To help you spot test flow statuses at a glance, even on mobile, we’ve updated the email subject line to prioritize test statuses before the website name. However, if you’re using no-code automation tools like Zapier based on email subjects, you may need to adjust your workflows accordingly.
- Preserve Test Flows When Disabling Pop-Ups and Modals: No more rebuilding test flows! If you disable pop-ups or modals after creating a test flow, you can now update your flow without losing customizations. This improvement eliminates the need to start from scratch if you forgot to toggle the “disable pop-ups” option earlier.
- Enhanced Select/Dropdown Label Verification: If your select/dropdown fields use different labels versus values, CheckView now verifies the labels selected by the bot. This ensures your selections are accurately tested, matching real-world user expectations.
- Email Test Inbox in Custom Test Flows: Our email test inbox validation feature is now available for custom test flows, providing even greater flexibility for your automated testing needs.
- Improved Third-Party Pop-Up Handling: We’ve enhanced our platform’s ability to close specific third-party modals and pop-ups automatically, ensuring smoother test executions.
- WooCommerce Stripe Legacy Checkout Mode: We’ve added better support for WooCommerce’s Stripe Legacy checkout mode, resolving issues that some users experienced during payment testing.
- Support for Slow-Loading Sites: We’ve optimized our platform to better accommodate slow-loading pages, reducing false positives and test failures.
- Enhanced Auto-Completion for Fields
- Phone Number Fields: CheckView now supports better auto-completion for phone number fields, accommodating validation requirements with ease.
- Checkbox Fields: Auto-completion for checkboxes is also more robust, ensuring consistent test flow accuracy.
- Default Test Phone Number Update: New CheckView accounts now use a test phone number with a real area code, 828, instead of 555. This resolves compatibility issues with form plugins that validate area codes. If you’re experiencing this issue on an existing account, contact our support team to update your test phone number.
- WordPress Plugin Update for Nginx Reverse Proxies: Our latest WordPress plugin fixes compatibility issues with hosts using Nginx reverse proxies. This resolves failures caused by IP verification issues, ensuring more reliable bot recognition and smoother test operations.
What’s Next?
We’re not slowing down! Over the next month, expect even more exciting features, including:
- Conditional Logic Auto-Completion: A top request to reduce manual test step configuration.
- Improved Date Picker Support: Another highly anticipated feature to streamline test flows.
- New Scroll Step Functionality: Enhancing the bot’s ability to interact with dynamic content.
- iFrame Testing Support: Expanding our capabilities to handle embedded content testing.
- Rich Text Editor Field Support: Adding functionality to handle rich text editor fields within test flows.
- Basic Auth Support: Allowing staging sites with username and password protection to be easily tested.
- Dynamic Step Creation During Test Runs: Enabling steps to be created as the test runs, so you can adjust only the failing steps without needing to build a custom test flow from scratch.
- Step Importing via JSON: Providing the ability to import steps from one test flow to another using a JSON file, making it much easier to replicate custom flows across similar sites.
- Optional Test Steps: Adding flexibility for A/B actions or non-critical interactions that won’t affect the overall test result.
We’re committed to making CheckView the most reliable and feature-rich platform for your WordPress testing needs.
