Organizations

In CheckView, an organization serves as the central hub for managing websites, test flows, team members, notifications, and billing. Organizations provide a secure, structured way to collaborate and maintain control over all testing activities.

What Is an Organization in CheckView?

An organization in CheckView represents a group or entity, such as a company or agency, that manages a collection of websites and test flows. Each organization has its own:

  • Websites: The sites being monitored and tested.
  • Team Members: Users with access to manage the organization, websites, and test flows.
  • Notifications: Default alerts sent about test results and issues.
  • Billing: Subscription plans and payment details tied to the organization.
  • Schedule: Default scheduling settings for test flows and their test runs.
  • Organization Variables (Advanced Plan Only): Default custom variables values utilized in test fields.
  • Platform Configuration (Future Feature): Advanced control over the testing environment.

How Organizations Work with Websites

  • Website Ownership and Security: Each website in CheckView can only be added to one organization. This ensures:
    • Data Security: Prevents multiple organizations from accessing or testing the same website without explicit permission.
    • Clear Ownership: Maintains accountability by linking a website to a single organization.
    • Anti-Spam: Prevents bad parties from running tests on websites they do not manage or own.

Pro Tip: If you need to transfer a website to another organization (e.g., a client takes over ownership), contact CheckView support to facilitate the transition securely.

Adding Websites to an Organization

  1. Admin Access Required: Only admins of an organization can add websites.
  2. Unique Website Restriction: If a website is already associated with another organization, it cannot be added again. The original organization must first remove it.

Managing Websites

  • Websites in an organization are tied to their respective test flows, team members, and notifications.
  • Websites can be paused or unpaused as needed without losing associated test flows or settings.
