Building Form Testing Into Every Care Plan

Success StoryWith Rubber Duckers

The Challenge

Rubber Duckers is a UK design and development agency that looks after its clients’ WordPress sites on ongoing care plans. Form testing used to be manual and ad hoc: the team checked forms when a site launched and occasionally after that. It never became a defined part of the care plans, because of the hours it would have taken.

As the care plan side of the business grew, that gap became harder to ignore. Forms would stop submitting or sending and sit there quietly doing nothing. The case that stuck with the team was a client who tested their own form and found the enquiry never came through. The submission history showed the form had worked at some point, so there was no way to know how long it had been down or how many enquiries had been missed.

The Solution

Rubber Duckers found CheckView through The Admin Bar community and has used it since late 2024. Every form across the agency’s sites, its own included, now runs on automated tests: client sites every week, and the agency’s own site every day. Each test submits a real entry and then confirms the notification email actually arrived, which is exactly the failure that used to go unnoticed: a form that looks fine but sends nothing.

Form testing is now part of the care plan itself rather than something done at launch. When a test fails, the agency hears about it first instead of from the client.

What Chris singles out most is the support. “The back and forth I’ve had with Matt, including on issues that were down to our server rather than CheckView, has been second to none,” he says. “The common thread in our current stack is that the people behind them care about what they do and will give you the time of day, even when the question is slightly outside their remit. CheckView fits that.”

Knowing our care plan clients' forms are being tested automatically is one less thing to think about each week. The support CheckView offers on top of that is up there with the best we've worked with. If something does go wrong, there's a solid, helpful team behind it.
